Squad Update
Ahead of this weekend’s EPCR Challenge Cup opener against Bath at The Rec (Saturday 10 December, kick-off 1pm), Glasgow Warriors can provide the following squad update:
Duncan Weir has re-joined the squad after recovering from a calf injury, whilst Sam Johnson continues his phased return to training.
Back-rower Jack Mann continues to train with the club ahead of this weekend’s match, having initially linked up with the squad in the first block of fixtures in the 2022/23 season.
Zander Fagerson (hamstring) and Oli Kebble (shoulder) both sustained injuries in Saturday’s 45-17 victory over Zebre Parma, with the front-row duo undergoing further assessment by the medical team at Scotstoun.
Ross Thompson has undergone successful surgery at Ross Hall Hospital on an ankle injury sustained against Leinster a fortnight ago, with the operation conducted by Mr Bob Carter, Consultant Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgeon. Thompson will now begin his rehabilitation under the supervision of the club’s medical and strength and conditioning team with a view of returning to action in the New Year.
Cole Forbes is continuing his rehabilitation after sustaining a minor neck injury in training, which is being overseen by the club’s medical team.
Jack Dempsey (groin) and Alex Samuel (back) will both be out of action in the short term after picking up injuries against Leinster and in training last week respectively.
Scott Cummings (foot), Enrique Pieretto (chest), Allan Dell (calf), Thomas Gordon (calf) and Rory Darge (ankle) all continue their rehabilitation on their respective injuries.
