SP Energy Networks Championship Final

SP Energy Networks Championship Final

Balfron High School were crowned this year's SP Energy Networks Championship Winners on Tuesday 25 April at Scotstoun.

Stonelaw High School and Balfron High School came back to Scotstoun this week with their supporters in tow for the SP Energy Networks Championship Final.

There were three games between the two schools that were all highly competitive and close.  Both schools showed incredible skill and talent and the games were very physical. When tries were scored the supporters for the schools would erupt in their cheers and encouragement.

At the end of the three games it was Balfron High School who proved to be victorious and lift the coveted Championship Trophy.  Sione Tuipulotu and George Horne came down to the pitch to present the medals to the schools and took the time to take photos and give autographs to the aspiring players.

This is the first time Stonelaw High School have made the final and the first time Balfron High School have won the competition.

Following the trophy and medal presentation there were plenty of photo opportunities for the players and their adoring fans.

SP Energy Networks then hosted a dinner for the two teams.  The teams were given a SP Energy Networks goodie bag and took part in a rugby quiz during their meal.  The teams were then given the opportunity to ask Scotland Internationalist George Horne and Evie Wills questions and take photos with them.

The whole Championship has seen over 1000 young people from across Scotland take part in competitive rugby against schools they wouldn’t normally play against.  The competition is a highlight for many and schools will already be looking ahead to next year’s Championship.
