Seven Warriors named to take on World Champion Boks

Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend has named seven Glasgow Warriors players in his side ahead of Saturday’s game against the world champion Springboks at BT Murrayfield.

A total of four Warriors are named in the starting XV with a further three named amongst the replacements.

Ali Price is the only Glasgow player named in the 23 that featured when the two sides last met in November 2018 – a 20-26 loss in a hotly contested affair at BT Murrayfield. He also has the most recent experience against this World Cup winning side, having played in all three tests against South Africa for the British & Irish Lions this summer

British and Irish Lion Zander Fagerson retains his place at the coal face for a third straight week and is joined in the forward pack by his brother Matt at number eight. Matt made the most carries of any player on the pitch in last weekend’s 15-12 win against the Wallabies.

Rufus McLean rounds off the Glasgow compliment in the starting XV, with the winger returning to the fold after his impressive try scoring debut against Tonga two weeks ago.

Once again Jamie Bhatti and Oli Kebble are named amongst the front row replacements.

The Glasgow cohort is completed by the electric George Horne as replacement scrum-half.
