Ross Thompson returns to play
Glasgow Warriors fly-half Ross Thompson will play his first game of rugby tonight since last November, in round two of the FOSROC Super Series.
Thompson has been selected to start at ten for Ayrshire Bulls. The Bulls play Stirling Wolves at Bridgehaugh, with the game kicking off at 7.35pm.
Thompson last featured for Glasgow as a replacement in the 2022/23 BKT United Rugby Championship match against Leinster in Dublin.
In the Stirling side, Allan Dell gets valuable game time having been selected at tight-head prop.
Thompson said: “I’m excited to be able to play for Ayr tonight. It’s been a long time since I’ve played, but thankfully Ayr are a club I know well having played there during the first season of Super 6.
“They’ve got a really great group of players and coaches, so I’ve enjoyed getting involved in a few training sessions. The last week at Ayr has been brilliant to get back throwing a ball about.
“I’ve spent a lot of time during the summer doing rehab, conditioning, and gym work, but not rugby sessions. The past week has made me more excited to get back into pre-season with Glasgow.”
