Dragons defeated, an impressive debut and Scotland success - catch up on everything that's been happening in the latest Weekend Update

Warriors power past Dragons

Back-to-back bonus-point wins were duly secured on Saturday night, as Glasgow Warriors claimed a valuable 34-19 victory over the Dragons at Scotstoun.

It was a good night to be a member of the pack, with four of the five tries on the night coming courtesy of the Glasgow forwards; Grant Stewart, Tim Swinson and Mesu Dolokoto all found themselves on the scoresheet – in Stewart’s case, twice – with Huw Jones adding a try of his own.

First start, first man of the match award

Having been handed his firt start in a Glasgow jersey, Jamie Dobie certainly made the most of the opportunity.

New deal for Stewart

As if two tries on Saturday night wasn’t enough, Grant Stewart gave the Warrior Nation further reason to be cheerful yesterday following the announcement that the hooker had agreed a new two-year deal with the club.

The former Dalziel man made his Scotland debut over the summer, with his new contract keeping him at Scotstoun until at least the summer of 2022.

Scotland victorious in Rome

A number of Warriors also excelled on international duty over the weekend, as Scotland claimed a first win in the 2020 Guinness Six Nations.

Adam Hastings provided the scoring pass for Chris Harris before crossing the whitewash himself, with Gregor Townsend’s men running out 17-0 winners against Italy at the Stadio Olimpico.

Kelly in 7s squad for North American trip

Another Warrior to receive a Scotland call-up over the weekend was centre Paddy Kelly – the midfielder retains his place in the Scotland 7s squad for the next two legs of the HSBC World Sevens Series, in Las Vegas and Vancouver respectively.
