A landmark anniversary, an 1872 Cup Reloaded and Dave signs off - catch up with what's been going on around the club in the latest Weekend Update

Five years on

It’s unquestionably the most famous moment in the professional history of Glasgow Warriors.

Saturday 30 May 2015 is a date etched in the minds of the Warrior Nation as much as the image of Al Kellock lifting the Guinness PRO12 trophy at a rain-soaked Kingspan Stadium.

Dave signs off, Danny comes in

The club also marked the end of an era this weekend, as Dave Rennie officially stood down as the club’s Head Coach after three seasons in charge.

Danny Wilson comes in to replace the Australia-bound New Zealander, with the Welshman taking charge of the club for the first time today.

A season that included Inter-District Championship glory and a famous win over Fiji, it was left to those involved in the season to tell the story in their own words…

1872 Cup

Whilst meeting on the pitch was impossible due to the current situation, Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh made sure that the 1872 Cup remained alive and well on social media.

With try chains, legends quizzes and more, a week-long celebration of Scottish rugby rivalry enthralled those on both sides of the M8.

Warriors Reloaded

The Warrior Nation was also treated to a re-run of a classic 1872 Cup encounter for the latest Warriors Reloaded, as the club rolled back the clock to April 2019 and a memorable clash in front of a sold-out Scotstoun…
