Supporter Memories | Volume Two

23 Jul 2020

Making friends, supporting your team through thick and thin and sharing the experiences with those closest to you - rugby is a sport unlike any other, and the Warrior Nation is unlike any other group of fans.

Whether it’s meeting new faces through their love of the Warriors, or whether it’s a lifelong association with the club – find out how our fans have shared their support of the club with others in Volume Two of our Supporter Memories series…

Ruth Taylor

Our game against Cardiff Blues in our last season at
Firhill was one of the happiest atmospheres I’ve ever experienced with the whole
crowd enjoying each other’s company. A
fantastic back-row performance from Harley, Fusaro and Wilson that resulted in
a demolition of Cardiff, topped off by Gavin Henson coming on and chucking the
ball into touch – which was followed with some excellent Strictly Come Dancing
jokes!

Rab Williamson

Probably like most supporters who were there, it has to be
the 2015 Pro12 Final in Belfast, Booked up early after our previous year’s
defeat in Dublin, stayed within walking distance on the Kingspan, and didn’t get too wet in spite of the continuous rain!

Anne Rogers

Friday night at Scotstoun, and dressed up for Halloween as
Winnie the Warrior witch. Callum [Gibbins] had picked up a concussion and judged the
contest in front of the main stand with D’arcy [Rae]. I didn’t win, but the lady who did
(zombie Dorothy) invited me to share her prize. We were the first ever couple
to sit in the Sterling Chairs – what a night!

We made Cully and D’arcy
laugh, we won and I was extended the hand of friendship from a fellow supporter. Best
night ever. Love being part of the Warrior rugby family.

Hannah Addison

Being able to go to the rugby with my dad.

Robert McRae

The two Season Ticket Members evenings I was lucky enough to attend with my family brought home to me how much the club is in touch with their fans. Chatting face to face with Gregor Townsend and Dave Rennie, having your coffee poured by Stuart Hogg and Jonny Gray and my wife, son and I getting selfies with the players showed how grounded the players are.

At the games the atmosphere is always electric and we love going to every game, win or lose.

Felicity Paterson

Every time we manage to get through to Scotstoun the team
always make time for my boys. If I had to pick, it would be the day that Jonny
Gray took us through to see the rest of the team. Blair felt like a celebrity!
