Rennie very happy with accuracy and pressure in difficult conditions

Glasgow Warriors head coach Dave Rennie was very happy with his side's five try bonus point victory away to Zebre.

Man-of-the-match Adam Hastings and double-try scorer George Horne both put in strong performances overpowering the men from Parma in bog-like conditions at Stadio Sergio Landranchi.

It was his side’s control of the game in the first-half that pleased Rennie the most.

“I thought we were really good in the first half,” he said.

“We were accurate and applied a lot of pressure and got rewarded on the scoreboard. We scored some really good tries in really difficult conditions.”

The head coach was particularly pleased with Man of the Match Adam Hastings’ performance.

“Adam was good, he controlled the game well and put us in the right part of the field. The field was incredibly heavy and made things difficult, but we did a good job,” said Rennie.

However, the man from New Zealand is still left searching for the perfect performance from his side after their second-half indiscretions.

“I thought our discipline was average and we gave away too many penalties in the second-half. We couldn’t get our game going.

“I think Zebre played better with 14 and we joined them not long after that which was frustrating.”

However, he ended on a positive note.

“It was a good five points over here in Parma. It’s not easy to play here and we’re very happy to walk away with a bonus point win.”

Next Saturday the Warriors welcome Sale Sharks to Scotstoun in the first round of the Heineken Champions Cup.
