Grigg and Steyn returning to Scotstoun
Glasgow Warriors duo Nick Grigg and Kyle Steyn will re-join the club’s pre-season preparations, after being released from Scotland’s Rugby World Cup training squad.
The centre
pairing will return to Scotstoun, linking up with Dave Rennie’s squad ahead of
the new season.
25-year-old
Steyn, who is also comfortable on the wing, was named as one of five uncapped
players in Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend’s training group after a strong
run of form in the closing months of the 2018/19 Guinness PRO14 season.
The Scotland
7s cap made his Glasgow Warriors debut away to Cardiff Blues in February, going
on to score twice in his 10 appearances to date.
Former
Stirling County centre Grigg made his Scotland debut against Fiji in June 2017,
and has since gone on to win nine international caps in his career so far.
The
hard-running 26-year-old made three appearances in this year’s Guinness Six
Nations, including in March’s incredible 38-38 draw with England at Twickenham.
Glasgow
Warriors play their opening pre-season fixture away to Ulster on Saturday 7 September,
before hosting the same opponents at Scotstoun seven days later.
