Glasgow duo named to face Stormers
Ali Price will start for the British and Irish Lions in their final scheduled warm-up fixture ahead of the first Test of the 2021 tour, after being named at scrum-half for Saturday’s clash with the Stormers.
It will be the 28-year-old’s first involvement since the 54-7 victory over the Sharks last Wednesday, having been rested for both Saturday’s win over the same opponents and yesterday’s defeat to South Africa A.
The scrum-half has been a standout performer in his outings so far in South Africa, crossing for a try in the win over the Sigma Lions and impressing fans and pundits alike with his box-kicking and speed of service from the breakdown.
Price will be joined in the matchday squad by Glasgow team-mate Zander Fagerson, who continues as the reserve tight-head for the second successive match.
Fagerson came off the bench in last night’s loss to South Africa A, showing up well at the scrum against Coenie Oosthuizen.
The match is live on Sky Sports on Saturday evening, with kick-off in Cape Town scheduled for 5pm UK time. Live commentary is also available on Talksport.
