Glasgow Warriors Jare Oguntibeju almost caps off the game with an interception from 30m, but the big man can’t reel it in and the ball goes forward to end the game.
A first hit-out completed – we’re back in action at Scotstoun this Friday night as we take on Northampton Saints in The Famous Grouse Pre-Season Friendly.
Even in the closing exchanges, there’s no let up from either side – Angus Fraser’s line break almost sets Watson through a gap, before Bath come back the other way.
In the end, repeat phases and physicality provides the space for Tom Carr-Smith to go over out wide, with Linegar adding the conversion and taking the score to 47-14
Possession changes hands a couple of times in midfield, before Bath chip ahead out wide and Afshar has to scramble back inside his own 22.
The scrum-half regains his feet to then find touch on his own 22
Bath spill the restart initially, but then win the turnover and kick into space.
Kerr Johnston does well to race back, then beat the first defender to win crucial time for his support.
The hosts defend the lineout well, and get possession back when a loose ball finds touch.
From the lineout, a break in midfield leaves the hosts with a two on one, and Quinn Roux finishes off from 20m out.

Glasgow almost away again from the restart, but the offload drifts into touch and Bath have a lineout 30m out from the Glasgow line.

From first-phase, Lancaster feeds Ventisei, who puts Angus Fraser through a gap and charging into clear space.
He in turn finds Brent Jackson, who has enough pace and guile to outwit the last defender and dive over in the corner!
Lancaster adds the extras from out wide to narrow the gap to 35-14.
Cokanasiga bats a box-kick back, but he was in touch when he did so and it’ll be a Glasgow lineout.

The ball just beats the chasing Watson, who was outstripping Joe Cokanasiga in the foot race, and Bath have a lineout on halfway.
Afshar clears to just outside the Glasgow 22, giving Bath the lineout.
Try-saving work from Cockburn and Afshar, the latter making the crucial hit out wide to force the knock on with the try-line begging.

Eye-catching work from two young flyers, as Watson gets clear on the outside, before van Wyk hammers his man on the kick chase.
Bath counter well, but Afshar makes the tackle on Butt and forces the knock on.

Talakai and Max Williamson go close, but Bath somehow turn it over and boot clear through Tom de Glanville.
Bath are pinged for sealing off, and Lancaster finds touch five metres out.
Bath strike off counter-attack – a kick from Donohue ricochets off Sam Talakai and back into the hands of the hosts, who ship it wide to Arundell.
Watson does well to halt the winger, but the offload back inside finds Will Butt, who beats the last man and races over.
Donohue adds the extras for a 35-7 lead.
A first bit of Glasgow possession for a while, as Lancaster and Ollie Smith combine after a great take from Watson.
This time it’s the home side who have too much power from the driving lineout, with Arundell somehow ending up on the back of the maul to dive over.
Donohue adds the extras once more, and it’s 28-7 to the home side.
The Warriors think they’ve won a turnover – the referee disagrees and gives the penalty to Bath.
Linegar finds touch 10m from the Glasgow line.
The hosts whip it through the hands and go over for the opening score of the second half – it’s Henry Arundell who has enough strength to ride the tackle of van Wyk and get the ball down in the corner.
It’s an impressive conversion from the touchline too from James Linegar, and Bath lead 21-7.
Dan Lancaster is also on at the break, as the fly-half tries to pull some early strings.
Afshar’s box-kick bounces off the whitewash though, so Bath will come back for a lineout on the Glasgow 10m line.
Early possession for Glasgow, as Bath knock on out wide – scrum on the Glasgow 10m line, which will be fed by Ben Afshar, one of the aforementioned half time changes.
Underway again at The Rec – a raft of changes for both teams,as the two sides look to get valuable minutes into the legs.
Almost the perfect end to the half for the Warriors – Urwin’s cross-kick is fumbled, but Bath ground the ball just before the onrushing Ben Salmon.
That’s the final act of the half, as the whistle blows on an entertaining 40 minutes.
Bath are penalised for backchat, as Oguntibeju charges down a box kick.
Referee Adam Leal then marches Bath a further 10m, and Glasgow have a 5m lineout.
First replacement of the day for the Warriors, as Seb Stephen replaces Grant Stewart.
Van der Linde makes the half break and gets the ball away, but a great cover tackle from Burke and sharp work at the breakdown from Watson wins the Warriors a penalty on their own 22.
Bath manage to turn the ball over and van der Linde finds touch on halfway.
The lineout doesn’t go to plan this time, but there’s a Bath knock on in the fight for the ball, and Glasgow have the scrum.
Good work on the ground from Joe Roberts, and Glasgow win the penalty.
Urwin finds touch 10m out.
The pressure eventually tells – Urwin and Yule combine to make a big hit on Arthur Green from the 5m charge, but there’s nothing stopping Thompson Cowan on the follow-up carry for Bath’s second try.
Donohue converts for a 14-7 lead.
The hosts threaten again, but Yule makes a great read to shut down the blindside attack.

Both sides keen to keep the ball alive, with offloads aplenty in the midfield.

Grant Stewart finds Oguntibeju at the lineout, and the maul is rolling towards the line when Will Jeanes illegally collapses it.
Penalty try and yellow card duly follow, and it’s all square at 7-7.

Bath clear well initially from the scrum, but van der Linde’s follow up kick goes dead, giving Glasgow a scrum on halfway.
Big effort from Jare Oguntibeju there, as the second-rower chases a kick fully 60 metres to force the slice.
The visitors can’t take full advantage though, as an offload fails to find the hands and Bath have a scrum 15m from their own line.
Great cover defence from Cameron van Wyk, as the winger hares across the field to deny Bernard van der Linde after Bath break down the outside – try-saving stuff!
The Warriors turn it over, and Jack Oliver finds touch on his own 10m line.
The first try of the game goes to Bath, as Harvey Cuckson goes over for the score after quick phases inside the Glasgow 22.
Donohue converts for a 7-0 lead to the hosts.
A breathless passage of play there, with the ball in play for a full three minutes as both teams look to find the opening.
It ends with a loose ball bouncing into touch for a lineout on the Glasgow 22.
