Weekend Update

An historic win at Twickenham, a new face for 2021/22 and a chat with the boss - catch up on everything that's been happening in the latest Weekend Update.

Calcutta Cup glory

The only story any Scotland supporter was talking about on Saturday evening, Gregor Townsend’s side wiped out 38 long years since their last win at Twickenham with a dominant 11-6 victory over England in their 2021 Guinness Six Nations opener.

Eight Warriors were part of the history-making matchday 23, as the men in blue turned in a performance for the ages.

Berghan the newest Warrior

The good news didn’t stop there for Glasgow fans, as the club announced that Scotland prop Simon Berghan would be making the switch to Scotstoun ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The tight-head will join up with the Warriors after seven years at Edinburgh, as Danny Wilson bolsters his front-row.

Scotland call for D’arcy

D’arcy Rae has become the tenth Warrior to receive a call-up to the Scotland squad for the Guinness Six Nations, the tight-head having been added to the squad earlier today.

Meanwhile, Jamie Dobie and Rufus McLean have both been released back to Scotstoun after training alongside the senior squad prior to the Calcutta Cup clash.

Behind the Scenes

The build-up to Saturday’s clash with Benetton has continued in the past week or so, as Wilson and his coaching team put the players through their paces on the field and in the gym.
