“They really came for us, and we got stuck into it.” | Henco Venter
A dominant showing from the Warriors led to the defeat of South African visitors Hollywoodbets Sharks. Henco Venter discusses playing against his old club.
Glasgow Warriors defeated the Sharks 21-10, with three tries scored in the first half by the Warriors. Back rower Henco Venter played against his old club in what was one of the most physical games for the Warriors in the BKT URC this season.
Henco spoke to glasgowwarriors.org about the win: “It’s my old club. It was a physical game. They really came for us, and we got stuck into it so I’m glad about that.”
Scotstoun Stadium hosted a sold-out fixture for Plaster It Purple, the annual fixture to raise money for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. The fans helped smash the club’s fundraising goal and pushed the total to over £40,000 on the night. As well as bringing their generosity, they were behind the Warriors all the way.
“Playing in front of a sold-out crowd, it was amazing.
“The fans were one of the highlights of tonight. Thanks to the Warrior Nation for all their support and their generosity for Plaster it Purple.
“Really happy to get the win and raise so much money for such a great cause.”
