Kebble happy to be back with a win

Friday night lights saw Glasgow Warriors beat Zebre Parma 50-8, despite Zebre being first on the score sheet.

Oli Kebble was returning to play after being out with an injury for the last few months.  Kebble caught up with glasgowwarriors.org, to share his thoughts about being back under the lights at home.

Despite the win, there was a general feeling that the game could have gone better for the Warriors. Speaking on this, Kebble said, “I’m pretty happy with the results, we could have played better. But we will take the win.  We are always happy to get five points.”

This was Kebble’s first game since the previous away game to Zebre Parma, and he was keen to get back out on to the pitch.

“It’s been a very long time. Been excited the whole day. Very happy to be back.

“My highlight from tonight initially is probably Johnny Matthew’s scoring, what seems like the fastest hat-trick.  Certainly, the fastest hat-trick I’ve ever witnessed.”

Sometimes, it’s the big things like a first half hat-trick by a teammate that makes a game, and sometimes it is a simple as a good pass.  Oli Kebble said, “My personal highlight was throwing an amazing pass to Fraser Brown, who then got intercepted, but the pass was really good.”

There are still a number of players on International duty with Scotland.  Kebble thinks that there is plenty to build on and learn from Friday’s game and that once the full squad is back together that it will only add strength and depth to the team.

“There is a lot to learn.  I think process and system wise everything is good. We just need to sharpen up a little bit.

“Once the whole team is back together after the Six Nations, I think we will be a lot more cohesive.  Not reinvent the wheel, just build on what we have got.”

Friday nights at Scotstoun wouldn’t be the same without the Warrior Nation bringing the noise in the stands.

“I got a few chants from the stands this evening which I really enjoyed and is really nice.  I can’t remember the last time I played at home so it’s great to back.  I always love playing here.”

Glasgow Warriors next home game is against the Dragons on 1 April 2023, information can be found here.
