Bean to start for Army
Glasgow Warriors second-rower Lewis Bean will be taking to the field for the British Army this weekend, after being named to start in round one of the 2022 Inter-Services Championship.
The 30-year-old, who is a Corporal in Second Batallion Rifles alongside his professional rugby career, will pack down in the engine room for tomorrow’s clash with the RAF at Kingsholm.
Bean was previously selected for the 100th anniversary Babcock Trophy match between the Army and the Navy in 2017, having served on two tours of Afghanistan in Helmand Province and Kabul.
The match kicks off at 3.15pm tomorrow afternoon, with updates available on the Army Rugby Union Twitter account.
