Al Kellock | “I can’t wait to see what our squad can do with the opportunity before them”

Glasgow Warriors Managing Director, Al Kellock, addresses the Warrior Nation as Glasgow sit top of the BKT United Rugby Championship.

Dear Warrior Nation,

I am delighted to be writing to you as we sit at the top of the BKT United Rugby Championship. We now have a very real opportunity to secure top spot, with just two games left in the regular season.

To achieve this, we need to get nine points at least from the next two games. Also, we must maintain a higher points difference than Leinster against the Emirates Lions on Saturday, and then at our next home game against Zebre Parma the following week.

If you’ve not got your tickets for that Zebre Parma match, you can do so now.

As it stands, there are a little over 300 tickets left for this match on Friday 31 May. Thank you to everyone that has been coming along to our matches all season. Your support has helped us sell out Scotstoun Stadium six times so far, and you’ve helped us create some memorable days.

Highlights for me have been seeing many of our young players winning their debuts and going on to compete for a place in the squad week-on-week, and raising money for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity with Leidos at Plaster It Purple, with many of you helping to turn our stadium purple.

Fan Zone

Over the past few months our off-field teams have been working hard to bring our new Fan Zone to life for you to enjoy at matches going forward.

Ultimately, the Fan Zone, behind the east stand, has created more space and better facilities, in one of our busiest areas in the stadium. This includes a new 40-foot container bar, and brand-new permanent Macron Shop. With more space and improved facilities, we will be able to offer better queueing times and a far more sociable atmosphere in this area. Particularly, as we move into the summer months and have the prospect of home play-offs to come.

We’ll share more about what you can enjoy in this space in our What’s On update in the coming week.

Season Ticket Renewals

Right now, we’re also pleased to be offering Season Ticket Members the chance to renew their tickets for the first time in May while the season is still on going. Current Members have until Tuesday 21 May to renew their Season Tickets.

To everyone that has renewed so far, thank you for your support. For those of you are still to do so, please get in touch with our customer services team who are on hand to help you with any queries you may have. They are also happy to help you look at alternative options if there are changes, you’d like to make to your Season Tickets.

Recruitment

A key focus in recent months has been recruitment. I’m really pleased with the signings we have secured for 2024/25. I’m delighted we are bringing in two quality Scottish signings in British & Irish Lion, Rory Sutherland, and Warrior #286 Adam Hastings.

Also, it’s great that our Scotland internationals, Jamie Dobie, Scott Cummings, Johnny Matthews, Jamie Bhatti, and Huw Jones have all committed to stay in Glasgow.

Finally, a reminder to our Season Ticket and Warrior Nation Members that we are hosting our annual Supporters Forum at Scotstoun Stadium on Tuesday 28 May. I look forward to joining the panel alongside our head coach, Franco Smith, and captain Kyle Steyn. You will have received an email with information on how to register for that event.

I look forward to seeing many of you soon at Scotstoun and can’t wait to see what our squad can do with the opportunity they have before them.

Yours Faithfully,

Al Kellock
