Match Preview | Perpignan
Glasgow Warriors set to play USA Perpignan in the next EPCR Challenge Cup match. Following a week of cold temperatures and the move to Murrayfield, both teams are ready to focus on matters on the pitch.
This will be the first time Glasgow and Perpignan have met, so it’s anyone’s guess as to how the game could go. However, if we look at current performance statistics and the last few weeks of matches, the Warriors come out on top.
Glasgow Warriors have won their last two games, including the nail-biting game against Bath Rugby in the opener of the Challenge Cup last weekend. After a mixed start to the season, the momentum is building for Glasgow as they prepare to host Perpignan. A win this Friday will put Glasgow Warriors in a strong position to make the last 16.
Perpignan have had a similar start to their season with only four wins so far and are currently second bottom in the Top14 league. In terms of Europe, Perpignan lost their opening round game to Bristol Bears.
Looking ahead tonight, with the colder temperatures and the recent wins from Glasgow Warriors, combined with the inevitable determination from Perpignan to get a win will mean an intense match between the two teams.
A minute applause will take place at the start of the match to honour Jim Taylor MBE.
