JP du Preez first joined up with his new team-mates at Scotstoun in the summer of 2022, after moving to Glasgow Warriors from Sale Sharks.
He remains the tallest player ever to have played in a Super Rugby fixture, with the 6’10” second-rower having broken the record when making his debut for the Emirates Lions in 2015.
The man from Roodeport made the switch to Scotstoun after two seasons with Sale Sharks, making 31 appearances in total for the English outfit.
A physical presence with ball in hand, du Preez is also a menacing presence at the lineout, regularly sitting within the top 10 for both lineouts won and lineouts stolen.
Prior to his switch to Sale, du Preez made 31 appearances for the Cheetahs in the Guinness PRO14 between 2018 and 2020, including coming off the bench against the Warriors at Scotstoun in 2019.
His first try in Glasgow colours came against Zebre Parma in March 2023, brushing off three defenders en route to scoring in a 50-8 victory at Scotstoun.
