Warriors drawn with Saracens, Lyon and Cardiff
Glasgow Warriors have been drawn with English Premiership champions Saracens, French Top 14 semi-finalists Lyon and European Challenge Cup winners Cardiff Blues in the Heineken Champions Cup next season.
The draw for the pool stages, which was made in Switzerland this afternoon, has thrown up some exciting home and away encounters.
Glasgow will face Saracens for the first time since the Quarter-Final at Allianz Park in 2017, when Mark McCall’s side knocked the Warriors out of Europe, however they have not met in the pool stages since the 2007/8 season.
It will be the first time that the Warriors have faced Lyon in Europe. The side which finished fifth in the Top 14 last season play at the 25,000-capacity Stade de Gerland.
Glasgow will play fellow Guinness PRO14 side Cardiff Blues in the top tier of Europe for the first time since the 2013/14 campaign. John Mulvihill will be taking over from Danny Wilson as Head Coach next season, with Wilson recently named Scotland’s new Assistant Coach.
We’ll have reaction to this afternoon’s draw on glasgowwarriors.org this afternoon.
