Supporting Glasgow Warriors Women’s team

The introduction of the new Glasgow Warriors Women’s squad has provided the opportunity for the club to deepen its relationship with several sponsors.

SP Energy Networks, KubeNet, The Malcolm Group, and HF Group are all expanding their support of the Club to include the new women’s team.

Vicky Kelsall, CEO at SP Energy Networks

“Over the past seven years, our partnership with Glasgow Warriors has gone from strength to strength. We are delighted to see Glasgow Warriors introduce their first women’s team and we are incredibly proud that we can be part of this exciting new chapter.

“One of our main aims through our successful partnership has been to promote grassroots rugby and support the growth in the game, whilst demonstrating that both rugby and engineering opportunities can be for anyone. We look forward to working closely with the new team to inspire the next generation of women and girls.”

KubeNet Director, Julie Inglis

“KubeNet are proud to have been the official Business Technology sponsor to the men’s team for several years now and have enjoyed building upon our partnership over the years through youth rugby mini festivals, business events, and our fantastic game day clubhouse, Club KubeNet.

“Over the years our relationship with the club has gone from strength to strength, with the business noticing a positive impact on our own brand recognition amongst the supporters. When we were presented with the opportunity to be involved with the women’s team from the very beginning it was an easy decision for us to extend our sponsorship.

“Diversity in sport is something that we strongly advocate for as a business. I am a trustee on the board of Scottish Women In Sport, and we are involved with girls’ rugby at a grassroots level through our sponsorship of Cartha Queens Park RFC. We have sponsored the Cartha Girls teams across all three age groups for over six years, which has given us an appreciation of the challenges and opportunities for women and girls in rugby. Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh committing to a women’s teams will help the sport and give those talented players a Scottish team to aim to play for.

“For us, growing women’s sport is incredibly important. There have been great strides in the opportunities available to women and girls, but there is still a long way to go to raise awareness and increase the profile of our top female athletes across the country. That’s why we’re proud to support this announcement and the team.”

“The Glasgow Warriors Women’s team has presented an opportunity for us to extend our partnership with the Warriors and help to develop the women’s game in Scotland.

“We are delighted to see the club expanding to include a women’s team at a time when women’s rugby is taking off. The growth of women’s sport, and rugby in particular, has been very exciting and we are keen to support the future development of the game in Scotland.

“In order to develop the women’s game in Scotland we must have as many players as possible being given the opportunity to play at a higher level more regularly.”

Manging Director for the HF Group, Hugh Fulton

“We are proud to be strengthening our partnership with Glasgow Warriors to include the club’s new women’s team. We look forward to supporting them during this season’s Celtic Challenge campaign and contributing to the growth of the women’s game here in Scotland.

“With the alignment of the women’s team to the Glasgow Warriors brand, and the news this season’s matches will be streamed in the Celtic Challenge, there is no doubt this increased exposure will inspire more women and girls to take up rugby and help the growth of the game in the years to come.”
