SP Energy Networks Championship Development Day
This year's SP Energy Networks Championship was rounded off with a Development Day at Scotstoun for
10 schools from across Scotland took part in the SP Energy Networks Championship Development Day. These schools were unable to take part in the championship itself but were invited along as an alternative.
Around 270 young people took part across three age groups – U13 Boys, U14 Boys and U14 Girls. There were 25 teams in total who all played games against each other throughout the course of the day. The day provided a great opportunity for the schools to play against others who they would not normally have the chance to do so. The young people thoroughly enjoyed the day and the chance to play on the pitch at Scotstoun.
SP Energy Networks provided an interactive quiz for the young players to take part in, which included various STEM activities and videos. There were also prizes to be won which introduced the children to SP Energy Networks. The young people were just as competitive in these activities as they were at the rugby.
Glasgow Warriors player Ross Thomson, also came over to meet some of the players and speak to them about rugby.
The 10 schools that took part were;
St Joseph’s
North West Community Campus
Strathaven Academy
Duncanrig Secondary School
Mearns Castle High School
Carluke Academy
Larkhall Academy
Annan High School
St Matthews
Stranraer
This day concluded the SP Energy Networks Championship activity for this season.
