Match Preview | URC Quarter-Final | Munster (H)

It really is all to play for this weekend in the quarter-finals of the URC.  Munster head to Scotstoun to battle with Glasgow Warriors for that coveted semi-final place.

Glasgow Warriors are still undefeated at home for over a year and will be keen to extend that once more.  However, Munster have not been defeated away from home, since their visit to Leinster in October.  That being said, Munster’s only success at Scotstoun was back in 2020.

In the league table, Munster sit fifth and Glasgow Warriors sit fourth.  The recent clash between the two sides saw Glasgow win 38-26 at Thomond Park in March.  Glasgow will be focusing on bringing that same drive and motivation into this weekend’s clash.

Overall in the URC head-to-head record, the two sides have played 37 games, with Munster winning 21 of them, Glasgow 15 and only one match between the two sides ending in a draw.

In the statistics of individual players, it’s probably unsurprising to Glasgow fans that Sebastian Cancelliere leads against Munster on clean breaks, defenders beaten and metres carried.  But coming in on two of those statistics is Munster’s Shane Daly who is leading for the Munstermen on clean breaks and metres carried. Cancelliere has confirmed he will be staying at Glasgow so should he be in the team, it is expected that he will be beating defenders up and down the wing.

With a semi-final spot up for grabs, it is certain that both sides will be out in force with their eyes firmly focused on getting the win.
