Match postponed | Benetton
The Round 11 Guinness PRO14 fixture between Glasgow Warriors and Benetton Rugby has been postponed due to persisting severe weather conditions.
The game was due to take place on Saturday 13 February at
Scotstoun Stadium, however the freezing temperatures in Glasgow are not
expected to change over the weekend.
Glasgow Warriors’ stadium team have made their best efforts
to clear the snow, as well salt and brush the playing surface all week but an
inspection this morning has shown that the pitch is frozen. A yellow weather
warning for ice and snow is in place for Glasgow, and across Scotland, on
Saturday which means it will not be possible for the pitch to return to a
playable condition and ensure player safety in time for the game happen. The
early decision has also taken into consideration Benetton’s travel
arrangements.
Alongside
the club, PRO14 Rugby has taken the decision to postpone the game and will
announce rescheduled details shortly.
Guinness PRO14 has thanked the club for the proactive
efforts during the week to give the fixture every possible chance of being
played in the face of severe weather conditions.
