Jones set for Lions debut
Huw Jones could make his British & Irish Lions debut this Saturday in the squad’s first match on Australian soil in 12 years, after being named amongst the replacements for this weekend’s clash with the Western Force in Perth.
The centre – who brought up a half-century of caps for Scotland during the 2025 Guinness Six Nations – joins Glasgow Warriors team-mates Scott Cummings and Sione Tuipulotu in the matchday 23 for the encounter, as Andy Farrell’s squad look to bounce back from defeat against Argentina last weekend.
Cummings is promoted to the starting XV after coming off the bench last weekend, the second-rower lining up in the engine room for Saturday’s encounter.
Tuipulotu moves to inside-centre after starting in the number 13 jersey last time out, having ranked in the top three for carries and defenders beaten for the men in red at the Aviva Stadium last Friday night.
Jones is selected amongst a five-three split of forwards and backs on the bench, as the 31-year-old prepares to pull on a British & Irish Lions shirt for the first time.
The match is live on Sky Sports this Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 11am UK time.
