Hogg to return with Exeter in Champions Cup
Glasgow Warriors have been drawn in Pool 2 with Exeter Chiefs, La Rochelle and Sale Sharks in next season's Heineken Champions Cup.
The draw has thrown up a speedy return for Stuart Hogg, who will be back at Scotstoun with his new side, Exeter Chiefs.
The Warriors faced Exeter two years ago, losing narrowly at Sandy Park before putting on a show at Scotstoun, when Tommy Seymour and Matt Fagerson both scored memorable length of the field tries.
Glasgow have never faced French semi-finalists, La Rochelle in any form of the Champions Cup, so a visit to the port on the west coast will be new territory for the Warrior Nation.
La Rochelle are well established in Europe and reached the Challenge Cup Final in Newcastle last season, losing in the final to Top14 rivals Clermont. Former Warriors prop Sila Puafisi is in the La Rochelle squad and could also return to Glasgow.
It will be another reunion with some familiar faces when the Warriors play Sale Sharks, with Josh Strauss and Byron McGuigan now playing their rugby at the AJ Bell. In Faf de Klerk the Sharks have one of the most exciting talents in world rugby and he has been joined in the squad by several of his Springbok colleagues ahead of the new season, most notably by giant lock Lood de Jager.
