Glasgow Warriors to face Ulster in Cavan for pre-season test
Glasgow Warriors will travel to County Cavan for the club’s second and final match of the 2023/24 pre-season, as Franco Smith’s squad take on Ulster at Kingspan Breffni on Saturday 7 October (kick-off 2pm).
With Ulster’s regular home of the Kingspan Stadium unavailable due to ongoing work to install a 3G pitch, the two teams will instead face off at the home of Cavan GAA in the first-ever Ulster rugby match to be held at the venue.
Capable of seating 5,030, but with an overall capacity of 25,000, the stadium was opened in 1923 and has since hosted Gaelic football, hurling and International Rules series matches.
Both Glasgow Warriors and Ulster will be looking to improve on last season’s BKT United Rugby Championship showing, which saw both teams qualify for the top eight but knocked out in the quarter-finals.
The Warriors earned a hard-fought 17-11 win over the Ulstermen at Scotstoun back in February, with tries from Sione Vailanu, Jack Dempsey and Fraser Brown securing the points for Smith’s men.
Ticket information for this match will be available in the coming weeks via Ulster’s website and social media channels.
