Ten Warriors selected for Fiji Test

Rory Darge will lead out a Scotland squad containing 11 Glasgow Warriors in Suva this Saturday, as Gregor Townsend’s side travel to Fiji in search of a second successive win on the Skyscanner Pacific Tour.

A 29-26 victory over the Maori All Blacks – Scotland’s first-ever 15-a-side win over a New Zealand representative side – ensured Townsend’s squad started their tour on the front foot, as they take on a Fiji side who were within 90 seconds of victory over Australia last Sunday.

Darge leads the side for the first time on tour, having been named as the tour captain by Townsend and his coaching staff ahead of the summer Tests.

The openside is joined in the back-row by Matt Fagerson, the number eight set for his first run-out since suffering an ankle injury in April’s Investec Champions Cup defeat to Leinster in Dublin.

Rory Sutherland comes into the starting XV to line up at loose-head prop, with the 2021 British & Irish Lion having sat out the victory over the Maori All Blacks last weekend.

Behind the scrum, Jamie Dobie starts at scrum-half after being at the heart of Scotland’s final defensive set in Whangarei last weekend, winning his 13^th cap in the dark blue jersey.

Kyle Steyn lines up on the wing for his first Scotland appearance since last summer’s tour of the Americas, serving as one of Darge’s two vice-captains for Saturday’s clash.

Kyle Rowe is selected at full-back, after a stellar campaign in the back-three in Glasgow colours.

Max Williamson is the sole Glasgow forward selected amongst the replacements, the second-rower retaining the number 19 jersey from last Saturday’s victory.

George Horne rotates to the bench after crossing for a brace of tries last weekend, the scrum-half having impressed with his speed of service in Whangarei.

Adam Hastings and Ollie Smith likewise line up amongst the replacements after starting last time out, the latter having marked his first Scotland appearance in 18 months with an assist last weekend.
