It’s intense at close quarters as both teams are desperate to create something. Glasgow snub Bayonne’s attack ripping the ball from the opposition and winning the scrum.

Glasgow lose two of their own line outs, and hand a penalty to the hosts.
Bayonne’s Arthur Iturria is handed a warning landing a shoulder barge on Ross Thompson as he clears Glasgow lines. The referee gives the penalty where the ball lands putting Glasgow back in Bayonne’s half.
Glasgow lose the line out, but Josh McKay sets the visitor’s off into space collecting the clearance kick. He finds Sione Tupulotu who has space and he kicks through bouncing the ball off a Bayonne players leg and earning much deserved territory.
The visitor’s scrum proves effective once again, winning a penalty from the set piece. Thompson places us back down deep in Bayonne territory.

That free kick becomes and penalty and Thompson places us back in the Bayonne 22.
A handling error sees Glasgow Warriors pick up a halfway scrum, and with a entirely fresh front row they quickly upgrade the offence to a free kick.

Jamie Bhatti, George Turner, Zander Fagerson, and Greg Petterson all leave the field, to be replace by Nathan McBeth, Angus Fraser, Oli Kebble, and Max Williamson.

Some four phases from the penalty tap, Ross Thompson picks out a lovely wide pass to the unmarked Josh McKay, who has to launch himself in the air to find the tryline.

From the line out Glasgow inject phase after phase of intensity, with forwards and backs both battering the opposing defensive line. Bayonne stand strong though.
Finally, the referee, Leal’s, arm goes up for a Glasgow penalty. They tap and go.

It’s not to be though and the front row are penalised, turning the scrum into a penalty. Stand off Camille Lopez clears the lines.
It’s a Bayonne scrum on their own five metre line, so there is an opportunity to lay on some pressure. Glasgow have been effective in the scrum in the match so far.
Ross Thompson places Glasgow right on the Bayonne try line with his penalty attempt. But, a lineout that isn’t straight snubs the potential for points.
It’s a lively opening exchanges. This time George Horne creates a lovely dummy and makes 40 of his own metres. The wet ground proves hard to keep momentum though and he slips.
He does manage an off load to the supporting Greg Petterson, who then has Kyle Rowe on his shoulder.
The subsequent phases bring them closer to the try line, but unfortunately captain Sione Tuipulotu and hooker George Turner are penalised for their clear out attempt at the next ruck.
Huw Jones makes 40 metres from the first phase off the line out. He slips his opposite men and takes Glasgow to the Bayonne 22.
Bayonne spill the ball in contact and that does it for the first half.

Lopez clears from the restart and Glasgow have the lineout on halfway.
Thompson overcooks the return kick, however, and it goes out on the full to hand possession to the hosts.
No mistake from Lopez and Bayonne lead.
Turner goes sharp from the lineout and Gregor Brown charges into midfield.
Bayonne counter-attack from the kick ahead and Zander Fagerson is penalised for going off feet at the ruck.
The prop is shown a yellow card by referee Leal as a result of the earlier team warning, and Lopez will go for goal from 35m.
Lopez’s kick is too long and Glasgow restart with the 22.
Bayonne turn over and kick long, and counter attack from the Glasgow clearance.
Luke Tagi has a go around the ruck, as Aprasidze has a dart.
Brilliant from Tuipulotu – the skipper stabs a grubber into the 22 and gets there with McKay to make the tackle and hold up the tackler.
A scrum becomes a penalty, as Bayonne are penalised for talking back to the ref, and Thompson goes to the corner.
Good work from Gordon at the ruck and Glasgow win the penalty – Thompson finds touch on the Bayonne 10m line.
McKay deals well with a kick ahead and finds touch 35m from his own line.
