Match Preview | Zebre Parma [A]
WE TRAVEL TO PARMA TO TAKE ON ZEBRE IN ROUND 15 OF BKT UNITED RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP.
Only one point away from the top spot, Glasgow Warriors travel to Italy to face Zebre Parma in Round 15. Glasgow have never lost to Zebre. The Warriors will need to continue their winning streak against the Italian side if they want to push Leinster off the top spot in the URC table.
The last time Glasgow faced Zebre was a pre-season fixture at Scotstoun. With tries from Kyle Rowe and Sebastian Cancelliere, Glasgow defeated Zebre 33-29, one of the closer scorelines against the Italian side.
After defeating the Hollywoodbets Sharks last week at home, the Warriors retained their second-place standing in the table. Whilst Glasgow missed out on a bonus-point last week, the win only added to their success streak in the URC this year.
Glasgow Warriors have won their last five BKT United Rugby Championship fixtures.
OPPOSITION LOWDOWN
The preseason fixture at Scotstoun tested the Italian side’s skill and resilience. Down at half-time in the game back in September, Zebre refused to go quietly.
Glasgow needs to turn up physically and mentally if they’re looking to bag a win and a potential bonus-point against the hosts this weekend.
Suffering defeats in their last five games, Zebre’s only victory in the BKT United Rugby Championship this season was 12-10 at home to the Sharks in round four. They sit at the bottom of the URC table.
Zebre have lost their last sixteen encounters with Scottish opponents since beating Edinburgh 34-16 in Parma in October 2018. However, the home side are not to be underestimated.
