Tucker returns for first home match of 2024/25
Glasgow Warriors captain Ailie Tucker returns to the starting XV for her side’s first home match of the 2024/25 Celtic Challenge this weekend, after being selected to start at loose-head for tomorrow’s clash with defending champions Wolfhounds at Scotstoun.
The prop is one of six changes to the lineup from the side that brought two bonus-points back from a narrow defeat to Gwalia Lightning, with Lindsey Smith’s squad finally opening their home campaign after last weekend’s clash with the Clovers was postponed due to Storm Eowyn.

Aicha Sutcliffe and Katie Lindsay retain their places from the trip to Wales, as Tucker’s return from illness sees the captain pack down alongside them in the front-row.
Aisha Zameer continues alongside Holland Bogan in the second-row, the latter having started every match to date in the Celtic Challenge.
Emily Coubrough is another to have started each fixture in 2024/25 to date, the number eight flanked by Freya Walker and Eilidh MacGilvray, both of whom feature for the first time since the round one clash with Edinburgh.
Mairi McDonald and Ceitidh Ainsworth continue as the half-backs, the pair having been selected as the starting combination at scrum-half and fly-half respectively in each match to date.
Carla McDonald comes into the centres for her first start of the competition, as she partners Briar McNamara – scorer of a brace against Gwalia Lightning last time out – in the midfield.
Abi Evans and Sky Phimister continue in the back-three, with Roma Fraser eplacing Grace Deane on the wing to complete the starting XV.
A settled cohort of replacements sees Orla Proctor rotate to the bench to accommodate the inclusion of McDonald in the centres, whilst Scotland U18 cap Sophie Price could make her Glasgow Warriors debut after being selected amongst the matchday 23.
Megan Hyland once again provides the cover at hooker, the Garioch product joined by Poppy Clarkson and Louise Downie as the front-row replacements.
Kate Yeomans wears the number 19 jersey, with Mary Nelson and Poppy Mellanby joining Proctor as the back-line options off the bench.
Speaking following selection, Head Coach Smith told glasgowwarriors.org: “We’re looking forward to finally running out at home, as we welcome a strong Wolfhounds side to Scotstoun.
“It’s been a long time coming, but the prospect of playing in front of a home crowd has given the players extra motivation this week and sharpened everyone’s focus.
“We know the Wolfhounds will pose a stern test, and we’re excited to go out and meet the challenge they bring.”
