Simon Berghan made the move to Glasgow Warriors ahead of the 2021/22 season, having previously spent six seasons at Edinburgh.
Born in New Zealand, Berghan qualifies for Scotland by virtue of his Stirling-born grandfather.
Having caught the eye for Crusaders Knights – the development squad of Super Rugby side Crusaders, he initially joined Edinburgh back in 2014 and impressed with his set-piece ability and dynamic carrying.
He went on to make 89 appearances for the capital side, helping them to reach the 2018/19 Heineken Champions Cup quarter-finals.
Berghan’s form for Edinburgh saw him called into the Scotland squad for the first time ahead of the 2017 Guinness Six Nations, making his debut against France in the tournament.
He started two of the most famous Scottish victories of the last decade – 2017’s 51-24 domination of Australia at BT Murrayfield and the 2018 Calcutta Cup victory over England – in addition to being selected for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
