Squad Update | 9 January 2024
Ahead of the club’s Investec Champions Cup clash with Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park this weekend, Glasgow Warriors can provide the following squad update:
Rory Darge will be sidelined for the club’s upcoming fixtures after sustaining a knee injury in the BKT United Rugby Championship match against Edinburgh; the openside flanker has begun his rehabilitation process with the club’s medical team at Scotstoun.
Gregor Brown will also be out of action for the next couple of months following a knee injury sustained in the away victory over Aviron Bayonnais and is working through his return to play pathway with the club’s medical team.
Nathan McBeth has been ruled out of the upcoming European fixtures after sustaining a shoulder injury at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, and is working through his return to play pathway with the club’s medical team.
Ollie Smith will undergo surgery on a knee injury sustained in the same match, with the full-back set to miss the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
Sione Vailanu is undergoing assessment on a knee injury picked up against Edinburgh at Scotstoun.
Enrique Pieretto (knee), Sebastian Cancelliere (neck), JP du Preez (knee), Fraser Brown (knee) and Jamie Dobie (ankle) all continue their respective return to play pathways following their injuries.
Matt Fagerson and Jack Dempsey have begun their reintegration to team training following their respective facial injuries, with Kyle Steyn doing likewise following the ankle injury sustained in round two of the BKT URC away to Connacht.
