Nominees announced for One Four Nine Wealth Warrior of the Month for September

Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Franco Smith has shortlisted four players for the first One Four Nine Wealth Warrior of the Month of the 2025/26 season, following three impressive performances to start the new campaign.

The award is newly rebranded to reflect the takeover of long-term club sponsors McCrea Financial Services, supporters of Glasgow Warriors for the past 17 years and nationwide leaders in independent financial planning, with One Four Nine Wealth having extended their partnership with the club throughout the 2025/26 season.

A youthful Glasgow squad showed up well despite defeat to Bath in their first match of pre-season, before earning a 40-31 victory over Northampton Saints in The Famous Grouse Friendly.

Smith’s side then opened their BKT United Rugby Championship campaign in ideal fashion under the Friday night lights, running in five tries to claim a 35-19 win over the Hollywoodbets Sharks.

Supporters can vote for their winner until 5pm on Friday 3 October over on the club’s official Twitter channel.

The nominees are:

Jare Oguntibeju

Having made his professional breakthrough last season, Oguntibeju has continued to catch the eye in the early stages of the 2025/26 campaign.

The second-rower was prominent at the set-piece amongst a youthful pack down at The Rec, before making his presence felt across the field in the victory over Northampton Saints.

Oguntibeju then formed part of a powerful forward display on Friday night, helping the Glasgow maul earn dominance throughout against their South African opponents.

Euan Ferrie

East Kilbride product Ferrie enjoyed a memorable pre-season, the back-rower captaining the Warriors in both friendly matches ahead of the new campaign.

The former Scotland U20 cap led from the front despite defeat in Bath, packing down at number eight before shifting to the blindside for the visit of the Saints.

Ferrie was then a last-minute inclusion in the starting XV against the Hollywoodbets Sharks, coming into the side after Jack Dempsey’s injury in the warm-up to produce a typically physical display in front of the Warrior Nation.

Ollie Smith

Smith’s versatility was on full display across the month of September, the Scotland flyer covering wing and centre alongside his usual position of full-back.

The 25-year-old was a constant presence with ball in hand in both matches against English opposition, regularly coming in to look for work to try and unlock defences.

He then lined up on the wing in Friday night’s season-opening victory over the men from Durban, providing an attacking threat both in the loose and in the air.

Fergus Watson

Scotland U20 standout Watson made an impressive start to the 2025/26 season, featuring prominently in both of Glasgow’s pre-season encounters.

The academy talent stood out at full-back down at the Rec, helping to set up the field position from which the Warriors struck for an early penalty try with his tactical kicking.

Watson then provided a sublime try assist for Jack Oliver in victory over Northampton, one of several eye-catching moments that earned the flyer Player of the Match honours in front of the Warrior Nation.
