Four changes for Warriors ahead of BT Murrayfield trip

Four changes for Warriors ahead of BT Murrayfield trip

Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Dave Rennie has made four alterations to his starting XV ahead of tomorrow’s match with Edinburgh, as his side heads east in search of back-to-back victories over the capital outfit this season.

A thrilling 20-16 win at Scotstoun last weekend means that the Warriors head to BT Murrayfield knowing that a first win there since 2016
will see them reclaim the 1872 Cup, as well as earn the club valuable points in their Guinness PRO14 Conference.

Oli Kebble comes into the side at loose-head prop in the only change to the starting pack, as Fraser Brown and last weekend’s man-of-the-match
Zander Fagerson continue in the front-row.

The industrious pairing of Jonny Gray and Scott Cummings are once again selected in the second-row, the Scotland duo having impressed around
the park on Saturday night.

An unchanged back-row sees Rob Harley and Callum Gibbins line up on the flanks, with Ryan Wilson packing down at number eight.

After his try-scoring impact at Scotstoun, Ali Price is promoted to the starting XV to partner Adam Hastings at half-back.

Sam Johnson and Huw Jones continue together in the centres, the latter’s break having led to Price’s try last time out.

A brace of changes on the wing sees DTH van der Merwe and Ratu Tagive return to the starting line-up, as Ruaridh Jackson retains the full-back
shirt for a second successive match.

Kebble’s inclusion in the starting team sees Aki Seiuli rotate to the bench, with the New Zealander joining match-winning try-scorer George
Turner and Adam Nicol as the front-row cover.

Adam Ashe and Tom Gordon continue as the loose-forward replacements, having made an impact from the bench last weekend.

Nick Grigg and Niko Matawalu also retain their places amongst the replacements, whilst George Horne is in line to make his 50th appearance for the club from the bench.

Tickets are still available for tomorrow’s match in Edinburgh from scottishrugby.org, with more than 23,000 tickets already snapped up
for this hugely anticipated encounter at BT Murrayfield.

Speaking ahead of the match, Rennie said: “Mentally the break has been good for the boys – it’s a good chance for them to spend time with their family. They’ve trained well since coming back in and are in good shape.

“Oli [Kebble] has probably been our number one choice at loose-head, and Aki has really shown us what he’s all about over the last couple of weeks. Tomorrow is a chance for Oli to come back in and make a statement.

“Ratu played superbly earlier in the season before his injury, and he deserves his chance. DTH has missed out in the last couple of weeks due to our depth in the wide channels, and we’re looking for the pair of them to go well.

“Hopefully half the crowd are in our colours tomorrow! It’s a special atmosphere – BT Murrayfield is a magnificent ground. We know what to expect
from Edinburgh, we just need to do what we did last week and be patient with ball in hand.”
