Kenny Murray to deputise as head coach for Ospreys fixture
Assistant Coach Kenny Murray will take charge of Glasgow Warriors against Ospreys next weekend as Dave Rennie travels back to New Zealand for a family wedding.
Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Dave Rennie said: “My son is getting married in Palmerston North, so Steph and I will be heading back to New Zealand for a couple of weeks after the Saracens game.
“Kenny will step in as Head Coach for the week of the Ospreys game and Jason O’Halloran, Jonathan Humphreys and Mike Blair will all also take on extra responsibilities.
“Aside from those in Scotland camp, the squad will be given time off following the game on the 25th so I will miss four days of training and one game day.
“In recent years there has been no PRO14 games on the weekend between the final pool game in Europe and the first game of the 6 Nations. We believed that would be the case again when my son committed to the date. It’s disappointing to miss the match but I have total confidence that the squad and coaching team can deliver a positive result in my absence.
“We’re a family oriented club and I have received full support in my decision to miss the game from the club and Scottish Rugby. I will be cheering the boys on from New Zealand, as will the entire wedding party.”
