Glasgow Warriors camps go on sale as club reconnects with community

Friday night at Scotstoun was an important night for the Warrior Nation, as crowds returned to their home for the first time in over 18 months.

On the night, from the gates opening to the roar of the fans when their players ran out, the sense of occasion was felt around the venue. And that sense of occasion was not something solely created by returning ticket holders, but the reopening has also brought the return of the club’s work with the community and the buzz of young, aspiring, players getting the chance to play rugby at the home of their heroes.

On Friday night, there were games played between Primary Sevens from GHA, Whitecraigs, and West of Scotland.

Another important milestone is reached on the journey out of the COVID-19 pandemic this week, with Glasgow Warriors’ first camps since lockdown going on sale.

Glasgow Warriors Community Manager, Stuart Lewis, welcomed this milestone saying, “We’re delighted to be offering our camps once again to pupils from Primary Four to Primary Seven, and S1 to S3 this October.

“The camps are a great opportunity for youngsters to develop their rugby skills and make new friends at the home of Glasgow Warriors.

“We’re a club that seeks to inspire our community and our camps are one of the vital ways we can connect with our clubs and help to bring on their young talents. We’ve missed running our camps throughout the pandemic and can’t wait to get them up and running once again this autumn.”
