Fletcher captains Scotland U20 in Summer Series finale
Glasgow Warriors prop Poppy Fletcher will lead Scotland U20 in their final match of the U20 Six Nations Summer Series tomorrow afternoon, as Louise Dalgliesh’s squad take on Ireland to close out their July campaign.
The loose-head is one of 13 Glasgow Warriors selected for the showdown at Ystrad Mynach, Scotland having put up a spirited performance despite defeat to Wales last Friday.
Fletcher assumes the captaincy from Glasgow team-mate Nicole Flynn, who retains her place at outside centre for tomorrow’s clash.
Poppy Mellanby continues at full-back after a stellar display against the Welsh, having scored a try amongst a prominent performance in both attack and defence.
Fellow try-scorer Ceitidh Ainsworth starts at fly-half once more, with fellow Stirling County product, Emily Norval, lining up on the wing for the third successive fixture.
Up front, Megan Hyland comes in to make her first start of the Summer Series, the hooker packing down between Fletcher and Eilidh Fleming in an all-Glasgow front-row.
Aisha Zameer continues in the second-row as she partners Gemma Thomson, who makes her first appearance for Scotland at U20 level after captaining her country at the U18 Six Nations Festival earlier this year.

Emily Coubrough retains her place at number eight, having made her return from injury in last week’s clash with Wales.
The replacements bench sees Sophie Price await her first action at U20 level, having made her debut for Glasgow Warriors during the 2024/25 Celtic Challenge.
Louise Taperell – who trained with the club during the 2024/25 Celtic Challenge campaign – and Rebekah Douglas complete the Glasgow cohort, the latter having represented the club during their inaugural season in the Celtic Challenge back in 2023/24.
Supporters can watch the match live on YouTube from 1pm tomorrow.
