Round two is next weekend, over in Edinburgh as we continue our drive to re-claim the famous 1872 Cup. We’re at BT Murrayfield on Friday 30 December, with another 7.35pm kick-off.

The visitor’s are going to try and slot a penalty from the absolute centre of the pitch.
Edinburgh win possession, though Glasgow hold them firmly on the halfway line. They look for a gap, but the host’s are holding firm. Less than two minutes to go.
Tom Jordan adds another three points, with just four minutes to go. They lead 16-7.
George Turner delivers a clean line out to his forward on the Edinburgh five metres. Glasgow taking advantage of the repeated infringements at the breakdown.
Jordan places Glasgow firmly in opposition territory. A quick line out and ball played through the hands shows the attacking optimism from the Warriors.

Glasgow search for a way through Edinburgh’s line. Tuipulotu, offers up an offload that Bhatti can carry through, he breaks the gain line but then comes down.

Steyn then challenges in the air, but the ball comes back on Edinburgh’s side.
Edinburgh find the breakthrough – a lineout drive breaks up, but Connor Boyle somehow smuggles his way over to touch down.
Boffelli converts and its a three-point game.
Glasgow are penalised for not rolling away, and Boffelli goes to the corner.
Savala’s high kick is spilled, giving Edinburgh a scrum on the Glasgow 10m line.
First action for both Turner and Bean as they combine at the lineout, before Horne box-kicks downfield.
Edinburgh hammering away at the Glasgow defensive line, as Pierre Schoeman has a carry but is well stopped.
The visitors are penalised for coming in at the side though, as Gray again makes a nuisance of himself.
Jordan finds touch on his own 10m line.
George Turner, Simon Berghan and Lewis Bean all enter the action, replacing Fraser Brown, Lucio Sordoni and Sintu Manjezi.
The scrum decision goes Edinburgh’s way, and Savala finds touch on the Glasgow 22.
The throw is deemed not straight, so Edinburgh have the scrum.
Mata carries off the lineout and breaks one tackle, but Gray is there to chop down the following carrier.
Savala then chips ahead but McKay reads well and hammers back with interest.
The ball evades the grasp of Paterson but not without the full-back getting a touch on it, giving Glasgow a lineout on the Edinburgh 10m line.
Another steal, this time from Gray, and McDowall clears – Edinburgh lineout on halfway.
Play was in fact brought back for an Edinburgh knock-on, so Glasgow have the scrum.

Boffelli breaks through and looks like he’s on course for the line, but the Glasgow 15 says no!
The ball is then turned over and Jordan volleys clear.
Vailanu then thinks he’s turned it over and is away, but he’s stepped into touch – Edinburgh lineout on the Glasgow 10m.

A turnover in the 22 sees McKay and Fagerson on the counter, and only a desperate tackle from Mata sees him deflect the offload into touch.
Edinburgh win the contest under the high ball, and then are awarded the penalty as Glasgow are pinged for not rolling away.
Boffelli this time opts to kick for touch, giving the visitors a lineout inside the 22.
Tom Jordan hoists it high, and we are underway once more!
Glasgow now right up on the Edinburgh five metre line. The forwards are battering the Edinburgh defence, but there’s no leeway yet.
Through the sustained pressure, the referee awards another Glasgow penalty from an infringement at the ruck.
The last move of the half is Tom Jordan converting the penalty.
Captain Steyn gains us ground on the wing in front of the main stand. But, another earlier infringement sees the referee pull back to the 10 metre line to award Glasgow another penalty.
Jordan looks for the corner again and gains more territory to build the attack from.
Glasgow turnover a sustained Edinburgh attack and Tom Jordan sets up a line out ten metres into the visitor’s half. An opportunity to build here.

Lucio Sordoni thinks he’s own the penalty, but the ref calls reset.
Glasgow can’t quite regather the restart cleanly, giving Edinburgh a scrum 30m out.
Horne makes no mistake with the conversion and it’s a 7-0 lead for the Warriors.

A brilliant carry from Jack Dempsey, who bursts through two tacklers and drags his man over the line for the score.

Another penalty to the home side, as Edinburgh don’t roll away in the breakdown after Manjezi breaks away.

Horne looks to dig it out, but we come back for an earlier advantage as Connor Boyle goes offside.

Edinbrgh find Grant Gilchrist at the tail and look to drive, but Glasgow read it brilliantly.

Tonight we remember Jim Taylor MBE and Doddie Weir OBE. This is the first time the Warrior Nation has been together since these two legends of the game sadly died earlier this month and last.
Fraser Brown is the only change to the full 23, coming in at hooker this week. Also, Kyle Steyn returns as captain to the starting XV.
If Cameron Neild comes onto the field, as one of squad’s seven substitutions it will be his first time playing in front of the Warrior Nation, since signing last month.

This year we’re also celebrating the 150th anniversary of this special rivalry.
As part of the celebrations you’ll see tonight both team’s are wearing bespoke playing kits unique to this occasion. For Glasgow’s kit the names of the players who played in that very first derby in 1872 are printed.
Edinburgh’s design calls back to the very first kit worn, with a similar hoop-design to that original jersey.
