Lucio Sordoni takes the ball from Perpignan’s long lineout and sends Johnny Matthews on a winding run.
It’s then time for the backs to link up with a lovely pass from Duncan Weir to Jamie Dobie, who’s moved from scrum-half to the wing. Dobie then chips and chases, but the cover is good and Perpignan touchdown for a drop out to clear the pressure once again.
Nathan McBeth gets penalised clearing the ruck off his feet and Perpignan can kick the pressure away.
The opening moments of the second period are dominated by the visitors. Glasgow move through lots of phases with both forwards and backs taking carries off the side of the rucks.
They slowly gain territory in Perpignan’s half, but no gaps have been unpicked yet.

A fourth try for the Warriors, with Cancelliere crossing the whitewash. That’s a bonus point, and the host’s move ahead to 26-18.
Glasgow now win possession in the visitor’s 22. A powerful scrum here is needed. They still have a two man advantage, with two Perpignan players in the sin bin.
A penalty won and slotted over the posts for the visitors brings them within three points, 21-18
Perpignan making things difficult here for Glasgow. They are creating enough of a nuisance in the centre of the pitch, so that Glasgow can’t gather the ball or create any momentum.
Perpignan drive right up to Glasgow’s line and win the scrum. A strong effort in the set piece though allows Glasgow to win a free kick and clear the lines.
Perpignan send the ball back into play quickly.
And, the referee runs under the posts awarding Glasgow a penalty try for continued infringements at the breakdown. That puts Glasgow back in front 21-15.
Perpignan punished at the breakdown and Glasgow can reset and attack from five metres. Piula Fa’asalele goes to the bin.
George Turner breaks off the subsequent maul and is taken down inches from the line. Glasgow move the ball again.
Weir places Glasgow right in the corner of Perpignan’s try line. A good lineout and break here and Glasgow can score.

Laborde adds the extras and Perpignan lead by a point.
Out of nowhere, the visitors strike.
A snipe through the middle creates the two on one, which Laborde gratefully accepts to race over for the score.
Laborde goes for broke and misses touch, which allows McKay to hammer to touch on halfway.
Turner finds Gray at the lineout and finds Jones on the short line, before Price feeds Berghan on the crash ball.
Soft hands from Manjezi gets Vailanu on the front foot, but Glasgow are penalised for a neck roll.
Dorian Laborde takes the long-range shot and slots it through the middle, cutting the gap to six points.
Glasgow are penalised for offside, and the call from Perpignan is to go for goal from 45m.
The throw is too long for Gray to gather, and Perpignan go wide.
Cancelliere cuts down his man though, and the visitors settle down on halfway.
Sintu Manjezi comes on for Lewis Bean in the second-row, as Perpignan clear to touch on the 10m line.

It’s an unlucky one for McKay, as he just can’t reel in a pass that would have seen him clear with a two on one with McLean.

Price feeds Jones on a smart line, as Turner comes back for another go.
Turner finds Fagerson on the leap before peeling away and racing into the 22.
Vailanu is there for the follow-up carry, and Bhatti follows him into contact.
Advantage in hand, Price sends Cancelliere clear on the wing and Vailanu is there in support.
The ball goes forward, so we come back for a penalty that Weir leathers to touch on the Perpignan 22.
Price sprints away from one before hoisting the kick for Cancelliere to chase.
The visitors gather and box kick long, which allows McKay and Price to feed McLean.

Big carry from Bhatti as he spins away from one, before Tuipulotu plays the territory game and finds touch.
Turner bursts through one tackle and up to the 22 he goes.
He gets the offload to the onrushing McLean, but the ball just squirts forward in contact and the visitors have the scrum.
McKay takes a high ball well, and Horne kicks long.
Perpignan return the favour, and this time McKay has time to run and offload.
Glasgow immediately on the front foot, as Horne and Turner combine well and race into Perpignan territory.
There’s a knock-on, though , and Perpignan have the scrum.
After some brief technical issues at the end of the first half, we’re back underway once more!
Warriors are working through the phases, with scrum-half George Horne working hard at the breakdown to move the ball fast.
Vailanu makes yards, Tuipulotu looks to break. Perpignan defending well and holding Glasgow on halfway.
The momentum remains firmly with the home side though.
Horne looks to spin it wide, but the referee awards a penalty to the visitors and McIntyre finds touch.
The visitors strike – from a turnover in midfield, Acebes counters and chips ahead.
McKay denies the winger, but the recycled ball sees McIntyre dive over in the corner.
The fly-half can’t add the extras, so it remains 14-5.

The ensuing play results in a penalty for the Warriors, as a scrap breaks out on the wing.
Cancelliere is involved from a Glasgow perspective, and the officials will come together for a chat.
A heart-in-mouth moment for Glasgow, as a loose ball is gathered by Perpignan in the 22 and away go the visitors.
Tuipulotu intercepts the offload, but play is brought back for a scrum to the Catalan side.
Simple as you like for Weir, and it’s a 14-0 lead for the Warriors.

Turner finds Bean cleanly, before Horne spins it to Tuipulotu.
The skipper chips ahead superbly and the onrushing Jones is there to dive on the ball under the posts.
Advantage in hand, as Bean trundles up the middle.
Horne calls for the penalty, and the referee obliges.
A warning for the visiting captain Mathieu Acebes, and Weir will go for touch from centre field.

Up to the 22 again and Glasgow look to shift the attack.
The visitors look to strike back, but Weir calmly defuses a long kick and hammers it to touch on the Perpignan 10m line.
Weir adds the extras from the touchline, and it’s a 7-0 lead for the Warriors.
Simple hands does the job!
Great passing from Weir to Jones, who then gives it to McKay.
The full-back has the simple task of sending Rufus McLean over the line, and it’s the opening try of the game for your Warriors!
Perpignan collapse the maul.

Thundering run from the big Tongan, who is almost up and over the line.
Only desperate Perpignan defence prevents the flanker, and Weir goes to the corner from the kick.
Vailanu on the charge, through three tackles!
Horne has a dart, then Turner has a rumble, and Glasgow up to the 22.
Tuipulotu takes play even further and Dempsey keeps it alive well.
Great defence from Cancelliere as he forces a knock-on, which is picked up from an offside position.
Weir finds touch with the penalty, and Turner finds Bean with the throw.
The visitors win a suspiciously squint looking lineout, but Tuipulotu makes sure that no progress is made with a big hit in midfield.
McKay then chops down opposite number Tristan Tedder
Scrappy from Glasgow, and Horne has to scramble to maintain possession.
The scrum-half is pinged for holding on, though, and McIntyre takes play up to halfway.
The lineout doesn’t go to plan and Perpignan clear to touch.

McKay tries to dance through the middle, but play comes back for an earlier penalty as Perpignan go off their feet.
Weir goes to the corner.
Matt Fagerson wins the steal and Glasgow come away with it, as Vailanu feeds Turner.
Cancelliere dances away from two tackles and Glasgow up to the 22 again.
The decision goes the visitors’ way at the scrum, and McIntyre finds touch on his own 10m line.
The ball just goes forwards on the deck and Perpignan will have the put-in at the scrum just inside their own 22.
Turner finds Jamie Bhatti at the front and Glasgow on the charge, as Jones combines with Tuipulotu in midfield.
Horne then gets his pack running onto the ball and Glasgow have numbers…
No advantage, so we come back for a high tackle on Jones.

Perpignan go wide through George Tilsley, but Sebastian Cancelliere gets back to intercept the offload and counters.
Turner and Horne combine to free Jones, and Glasgow have advantage.
Perpignan survive – Richie Gray is just inches short, and the Catalan side somehow earn the penalty.

Jake McIntyre clears to touch, but Glasgow go quickly and Weir feeds Sione Tuipulotu on the charge.

So far in 2022/23 Perpignan have played 12 games in the French Top 14, of which they have won four matches – against Toulon, Castres, Lyon, and Bourdeaux Begles.
In the Challenge Cup, they lost their opening round match at home to Bristol Bears, 19-5 last weekend.

Welcome to BT Murrayfield and round two of the EPCR Challenge Cup. Tonight, we face French Top 14 side USA Perpignan, a team we haven’t faced in competition before.
Due to adverse weather conditions this week, tonight’s match was moved from our home at Scotstoun Stadium, through to the international stadium in Edinburgh.
