“When those boys are going forward, it lets the backs shine” | Adam Hastings

Glasgow Warriors secured their place in the Investec Champions Cup Quarter Final with a win over Leicester Tigers at Scotstoun on Saturday evening.

Two tries a piece from Sione Vailanu and Henco Venter with George Horne and Adam Hastings each getting one, saw the Warriors putting on a display of dominance on their home turf in front of a sold-out crowd.

Adam Hastings caught up with glasgowwarriors.org after the game to give his thoughts on the performance.

“It was so awesome,” Hasting said, “It took a while to break them down at the start.  I know we scored a couple of tries early but I feel like we should have come away with more.

“But then going in at half time in the sheds we knew we had a big shift coming on and I think the boys just took that opportunity in the second half which was amazing.”

Henco Venter and Sione Vailanu showed their dominance and strength in the game as they both powered over the line for two tries each, one in each half.

“The forward pack were unbelievable!” Hastings said, “They have been so good the last few weeks.

“Henco must have had a legacy game, I think he was everywhere! Big Nonz as well!

“But in all seriousness, when those boys are going forward, it lets the backs shine a little bit and I thought our back line was brilliant tonight as well.”

Scotstoun was sold out and it was one of the loudest games of the season, as the fans were vocal in support throughout the game.

“It was so good running out tonight and when you go over the line, it’s just incredible.  Thank you so much to everyone that comes.  It really does mean a lot to us boys.”
