Match Preview | Munster (A)
Perhaps one of the biggest games of the BKT United Rugby Championship this weekend as Glasgow Warriors head off to take on Munster.
Fourth placed Glasgow face fifth placed Munster at Thomond Park on Saturday 25 March. Set to be a tough match for both teams, both will be bringing in some Guinness Six Nations experience with players freshly back from international duty.
Glasgow’s last visit to Thomond Park was in 2018 where Munster won by just one point. Of Munster’s previous two trips to Scotstoun, both teams have won a game each, with Glasgow winning the last clash in 2022.
In the league, only two points separate the teams, with Glasgow currently on 49 and Munster on 47. Both teams have only lost one of their last six games with the Warriors undefeated streak coming to an end against the Lions in February. Munster have won their last five games since losing to Leinster at Thomond Park on Boxing Day.
Statistics from the URC show that Joey Carbery of Munster leads on points scored by seven to George Horne, with Carbery sitting on 88 and Horne on 81. However, Carbery has played one more game in the league that Horne.
In the rest of the attack statistics, it is probably no surprise that Sebastian Cancelliere leads on everything else apart from successful carries with Ollie Smith holds. Glasgow Warriors will be without their record holder as Cancelliere is still out with an injury.
Munster’s attack statistics are shared across seven players, but with Glasgow leading on them all except points scored.
