Match Preview | Benetton (A)
Round Two of the United Rugby Championship is here as Glasgow Warriors travel to Treviso to face Benetton.
Glasgow undoubtably had a convincing start to their season with a solid 35-19 win over Hollywoodbets Sharks. Tries from Kyle Rowe, Stafford McDowall, Rory Darge and Jamie Dobie and one penalty try plus four successful conversions from George Horne, saw the Scotstoun side put on a dominant performance for their home fans.
A different challenge awaits them this week, as they battle the incoming storm to make it to warmer climates to face Italian outfit Benetton.
Glasgow and Benetton is always set to be a competitive game, with Glasgow edging ahead in the stats with 20 wins to 7 overall.
The sides will face again in March as part of the Scottish Italian Shield (which Glasgow are currently the holders of) so this first game will play crucial part in who could be holding the Shield this year.

Benetton Rugby’s only win in their last four BKT Unitied Rugby Championship fixtures was against Glasgow in May. The host side managed to put 33 points on the Scotland side with Glasgow only scoring seven in that fixture.
Benetton started their season away to Connacht with a 26-15 loss. The Italian side still managed two tries with Louis Lynagh and Alessandro Garbisi crossing the whitewash at the end of each half.
The last five matches Benetton have played against a Scottish side have all been won by the home team on the day.
The game will almost certainly be a clash of strong sides, with international appearances expected in both nationalities. The two teams will be eager to put on a performance for themselves and fans and crucially win points that will keep their sides in the running for play-offs further down the line.
