‘It’s important we take the lessons and go firing into next week” | Kyle Steyn

Glasgow Warriors were defeated by Benetton Rugby in Round 17 of the United Rugby Championship in Treviso on Saturday.

Franco Smith shared his thoughts after the game. Smith said, ‘Compliments to Benetton.  They have a good team here.

“Perhaps they were underperforming now and then, and people underestimate them.  But they have bounced back from their loss against Stormers and rolled out a great performance today in front of their fans.”

Speaking on what Glasgow have to do now, Smith said, “We have a lot of work to do.   The pressure is now off us a little bit on trying to finish second.

“We are going to look to fix a couple of things and we are excited to get out there next week.”

Kyle Steyn also shared his thoughts post-match.  The skipper said, ‘It was a tough game.  I think we let ourselves down mentally.

“We knew they were going to be tough.  They’re fighting to get into the last eight.  They put us under a lot of pressure, and we didn’t do ourselves justice with how we dealt with that.

“After any game like this, we just want to get back on the horse.  I think it’s important that we take the lessons and make sure we are firing into next week.”

Glasgow Warriors will travel to Dublin next weekend to face Leinster in the final regular season game of the URC before the playoffs.
