‘Another massive honour to wear the Glasgow jersey again’ | Patrick Schickerling
Patrick Schickerling secured his second cap at Scotstoun with Glasgow bagging their third bonus-point win of the season.
A five-try game against Zebre Parma ensured that Glasgow continue their upward momentum in the 2024/25 season.
Patrick Schickerling made his URC debut against Cardiff last weekend. He came off the bench to help the Warriors secure another bonus-point win against the Italian side.
“I’m feeling pretty good,” Patrick said. “It was lovely to play my first cap at Scotstoun. I played the pre-season game, so I had a small taste of what the atmosphere was like.
“Another massive honour to wear the Glasgow jersey again.”
Whilst the 33-3 scoreline does not fully reflect how well Zebre played in Round 4, Patrick noted how tight the contest was in the breakdowns.
“Zebre were a very physical side and put up a good fight until the end.
“I really enjoyed the physical battle out there.”
At the end of the match, Patrick spoke to a number of Glasgow supporters. The Namibian-born prop emphasised the friendless of not just the Warrior Nation, but the Scots in general.
“Our supporters are very nice. They’ve kind of bought into my nickname of Chicken Wing which I quite enjoy.
“They’re all very nice people, just like everyone I’ve met in Scotland.
“I really enjoyed meeting the supporters tonight and getting the win.”
