Edinburgh Rugby A take the win 35-26 over Glasgow Warriors A in the first A game of the 2025/26 season.
Edinburgh kicked off and attacked from the start after Glasgow failed to secure to ball. The first threat came from a chip through which Kerr Johnstone calmly collected and secured for Ben Salmon to kick it clear.
The first try came from Edinburgh’s Number 8, Tom Currie, who found the try line first following continued pressure from Edinburgh along the Glasgow defence. The conversion was successful to give Edinburgh an early lead.

Glasgow then attacked hard from the restart but a foul at the breakdown gave possession back to Edinburgh who then had the first lineout of the game. Glasgow showed their dominance and win the lineout before a foul gave Glasgow the scrum.
Glasgow attacked hard and fast from the scrum, working the ball across both sides of the pitch to stretch the Edinburgh side. It was Fergus Watson who was the wide Glasgow player to find the try line. Matt Uwrin successfully converts to take Glasgow level.
Just after the 20 minute mark Edinburgh looked as though they are going to score in the corner but the Glasgow side steal the ball back on the line and Jack Oliver kicked it clear.
Edinburgh get the next score just before 30 minutes as Jerry Blyth-Lafferty spots a gap and touched down. Ross Wolfenden converted again to give Edinburgh the lead.

Glasgow then get a second from interplay between Urwin and Watson. Urwin made the late pass to allow Watson to come on to it before he dodged the final defender and touches down under the posts. Urwin converted and the score goes level with five minutes remaining in the half.
At half time it was 14 all with all to play for in the second half.
Glasgow kicked off the second half and look edto go hard and fast from the restart. It takes just 3 minutes for Glasgow to score as they work the ball wide and Seb Stephen on the wing touches down in the corner. Urwin’s conversion goes wide but Glasgow have the lead by five.
Edinburgh striked back quickly as they attacked through a pick and go from the side of the post. Jerry Blyth-Lafferty was the man to touch down for the side and with a successful conversion the home team regain the lead.
Edinburgh then get their fourth try of the game with Adam McKenzie spotting the gap in the Glasgow defence and touching down the ball. Wolfenden converts to extend the host’s lead.
Just before the 65 minute mark, Edinburgh had a lineout on the 5-metre line, but an overthrown ball gives Glasgow the ball back. The ball is kicked clear but collected by Edinburgh who then run the ball in under the posts through Jessop. Once more Wolfenden converted and extended the Edinburgh lead.

With ten minute remaining, Brent Jackson made a break through the Edinburgh defence and ran the ball in from the 22-metre line. Urwin once more converted the try to move Glasgow to 26 points.
In the final minutes of the game Edinburgh had the lineout on the five-metre line and go hunting for another try but the Glasgow side held strong and deny them the score.
Glasgow then looked to attack but a chipped ball forward is collected by Edinburgh and kicked out to end the game.
Edinburgh Rugby take the win 35-26.
