Our Badge
The Glasgow Warriors badge was given a fresh look ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, with the club’s new emblem launched in the summer of 2019.
Part of the club’s identity since the dawn of professionalism in 1996, the eponymous Warrior remains the centrepiece of the new badge, which has been refreshed to give an updated and modern feel.
Retaining the existing club colour scheme, the new-look Warrior draws upon the history of the club whilst providing a clean and simple design befitting a club of Glasgow’s stature.
Depictions of classic Scottish warriors were also incorporated into the design process, including elements from Celtic armour and the facial hair of the logo’s central figure.
The logo’s typography has also been given an overhaul, taking inspiration from shipyard signage near Scotstoun and Glasgow transport designs to create a typeface that reflects the history of Scotland’s largest city.
The distinct typeface also pays homage to the culture of Celtic warriors, with the ‘A’ and ‘O’ characters incorporating designs from classic Celtic armour.
Completing the logo is the Glasgow Warriors shield motif, a subtle nod to the club’s history; the design echoes the original Glasgow District Rugby Union logo from 1872, linking the origins of the club to its present-day incarnation.
